SPE branch activity successfully held Student Workshop- EOR which was sponsored by Petromentor International Petroleum Education (Beijing) Co. Ltd at 316,tower B, Petroleum building. Energy engineering's professor of Stanford University, Anthony R. Kovscek gave the lecture “Improving SAGD Using Mobility Control Foams: Foam-Assisted SAGD”. 

Kovscek's research group works on unconventional oil and gas exploration. Through geological storage, reduce Fossil fuel CO2 release, in - situ combustion, gas/steam's improved recovery method. The specific research methods include ambulatory imaging method, experiment and the local data's integration and so on. Kovscek's research group has a good reputation on improving recovery aspect. Improving recovery has become an important research subject in today's oil industry.

There was a good academic atmosphere in the meeting, and the participants communicated with professor Kovscek actively and expressed their thoughts and problems to the professor. Professor Kovscek has the participants a clear understanding of recovery improving though the vivid speech. The participants felt that they learned a lot from the lecture.
