With flight CA888 landing capital international airport on Nov 25th 2015, the 14 days technical training for CNPC skills experts ended successfully. Petromentor international education (Beijing) Co., Ltd set the training course, 20 experts from CNPC headquarter and branches attended this trip.

The training is arranged in University of Houston, Petromentor’s training center in America. The course covered new technology of O&G exploration and production and exploration and development of lithological traps and presented by professional lecturers. The experts from CNPC also had the opportunity to visit the center of NASA and NOV and had an informal discussion with local experts about innovation and real situation. The experts from CNPC went to visit NOV’s R&D center and Jesse Company and discuss with and learn from field engineer and equipment director.

Besides, trainees have visited the University of Texas at Austin, had talks with the director of academic research center about their academic accomplishments and management to optimize domestic management. They also have visited TRICAN Oilfield Service Company; a field engineer showed us the field equipment. A skill expert from UCLA provided new skills training. The experience and methods of teaching in the field of O&G we gained from professor is very help for future training and practice.

In addition, the visiting group also had visited town hall of Austin and learnt American’s history and have learnt city planning and political culture.

To ensure the training quality and outcomes, a tutor was arranged to help the trainee for their study and daily life. Good communication among Petromentor, the lecturers and the students also contribute to the good quality training.
