Course Structure

Legal basis for international oil and gas.

General guidelines of business contracts.

Oil contracts: includes the block joint bidding agreements, E&P block license agreements, joint operating agreements, united development and operation protocol, and transport and handling related agreements, exploration blocks rights contracts and oil assets sale and purchase contracts.

Other types of mixed contracts and related legal principles: including oil field abandon deposit contracts, confidentiality agreements, etc. The relevant legal principles that company should pay close attention to during the operation, such as labor law, packet terms, health and safety provisions, personal property and knowledge protection provisions, provisions against unfair competition and anti-corruption terms, etc.

The international law and relevant treaties of oil and gas industry: border trade, disputes, environmental pollution (such as the Kyoto Protocol), the Energy Charter (such as cross-border pipelines, energy investment protection), trade sanctions and human rights.

Sales Contract: introduce the differences and similarities in oil and gas sales, as well as the sales rules and related terms of the contract note in the international market of crude oil and natural gas. Analysis of liquefied natural gas sales contracts related clauses, and announcements in signing of the contract.
