Overview

Aberdeen is one of main cities in Scotland of British, while it has third largest population among six appointed cities in Scotland (212,125 according to statistics made in April 2001) with a total coverage of 186 square kilometers. It is in the northeast of Scotland, between River Don and River Dee, main harbor in the North Sea seaside. Owing to rich crude oil reserve in North Sea, Aberdeen has developed rapidly into the largest base of British North Sea Oil Field since 1970s. It has a good reputation as "Oil Capital of Europe" for many large petroleum companies have set their head office here and made it as home port for transportation.

University of Aberdeen

University of Aberdeen is a famous school of long history that ranks 5 in British. It has over 500 years history, found in 1495. At present, there are 16000 students coming from 120 countries. Top 150 universities all over the world. It has embraced Nobel Prize for 5 times in history. Over 90% of academic research it takes is of international level and the employment rate of its graduates reaches up to 91% (including work, higher education and internship). It has over 600 majors, Academic Year Program all over the world and the largest campus wireless network in Europe. The collection of books in library is over 1,050,000 volumes. It also has more than 150 clubs and societies. In the next 10 years, it will invest 270,000,000 pounds for further development, so as to provide with brand new courses to foster graduates that are suit for development in 21st century. Therefore, it is reasonable to believe that the University of Aberdeen will always remain in the front of international academic and research field as it had before.

Training Scheme

Based on North Sea Field in the north part of British, supported by the University of Aberdeen, Petromentor has made full use of local resources, including industrial bases and academic resources, to provide trainees with opportunity to go British for inspection and education. Such training scheme includes professional knowledge lecturing, company inspection, on-site operation and cultural inspection etc. Professional knowledge will be offered by local experienced experts and scholars, who can broaden trainees horizon by integrating their own experience into lectures. Company inspections includes inspections on world famous petroleum companies such as North Oil Field, BP, BGetc as well as inspection on the University of Aberdeen. On-site training includes site inspection, operation and usage of instrument and equipment, simulation operation etc.
