Course Introduction
This course is designed to provide participants with the skills, knowledge and techniques to develop and provide site-specific, technical skill-level Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) training programs to the petroleum industry, utilities, research and development, laboratories, transportation, paper/pulp/food processing, chemical manufacturing, and other companies with H2S at their facilities. Participants will receive and discuss the ANSI/ASSE Z390.1-2006 standard, “Accepted Practices for Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) Training Programs.” At the conclusion of this course, participants should be able to explain the hazards associated with H2S, describe how the federal and state H2S regulatory standards and other established industry criteria link together to reduce the potential of exposure and risks involved with H2S, and develop an effective training program for their specific sites.
